Pinecone ginger also known as shampoo ginger grows 4 to 6 feet tall and 3 to 5 feet wide. USDA Hardiness zones 8 to 10. Late summer into fall the red pinecones appear and can be squeezed to release liquid used as shampoo and in lotions. Roots can be eaten, but they are bitter.
Most plants will ship as ginger root with roots- some might have green growth.
